Dear NOW Leaders,
Our allies at the National Women's Law Center are collecting signatures on a letter to Congress in support of the Paycheck Fairness Act (H.R. 1519/S. 797). Our goal is to get as many state and local affiliates listed on the letter as possible, so please join national NOW in signing on.
As I'm sure you know, the Paycheck Fairness Act would deter wage discrimination by closing loopholes in the 1963 Equal Pay Act and bar retaliation against workers who disclose their wages to coworkers. It has passed the House twice, but a full vote in the Senate has been blocked thus far. Recent history and further details on the legislation from last Congress can be found on the NOW website.
This letter will be sent to Capitol Hill on June 10, so don't forget to sign on by Tuesday, June 7. To receive proper attribution, make sure to clearly list your full state or local chapter name in the organization field.
You can read the full letter and add your chapter's signature right on NWLC's website -- do it NOW!
||Thanks for taking a stand for equal pay for women,
