June is National Pride month -- and it's also (already!) election season. You can bet hard-line opponents of LGBT rights will be seizing every opportunity to roll back the gains we've won and block further progress. In fact, they've already started. You can help us stop them.
Just last month the Minnesota legislature voted to put a constitutional same-sex marriage ban on the ballot in 2012. I believe with all my heart that the good people of Minnesota will defeat this hate-based initiative -- but that won't happen unless we work to make it so.
And that's where you can help. A small monthly contribution of $10, $25 or even $50 will make you a member of the Feminist Action Network (FAN) and a key contributor to our efforts to achieve marriage-equality rights for all families, in every state.
These regular gifts are monthly funding we can count on, and they help more than you will ever know, as we work for full equality for all lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people, including freedom from bullying, job discrimination, housing discrimination, and family formation restrictions as well as the freedom to marry.
Make no mistake: the Minnesota same-sex marriage ban initiative is equal parts conservative ideology and cynical political tactic. It turns out the GOP is teeing up same-sex marriage as their prime wedge issue for 2012. As one outlet reports: "The timing ... feels more like 2004, when national Republican operatives made sure key swing states had marriage initiatives on the ballot to drive turnout among socially conservative voters ... " But unlike in 2004, a majority of people in the U.S. now support same-sex marriage rights. We are gearing up to win the fight in Minnesota and in every other state where this shameful tactic is deployed. With your help, we will succeed.
There isn't a moment to lose. Become a NOW FAN and join the special group supporting our work for justice and equality for all.
Please let me hear from you right away.

P.S. Every dollar counts. If you are unable to make a monthly gift, please consider the most generous one-time contribution you can afford.
