The 2011 National NOW Conference is just around the corner -- and I’m writing to invite you to join me at a special gathering on the eve of the conference, at the home of Tampa NOW Board Member Eleanor Cecil.
As a strong supporter of NOW, you have played a critical role in achieving remarkable gains for the health, safety and well-being of women and girls in the United States.
Today, with the onslaught of what is rightly being called a "war on women," the immediate tasks before us are clear: educate, train and develop leaders around the country -- and elect feminists to office -- to ensure that fundamental reproductive rights are kept in the right hands for generations to come. I want to bring you up-to-date on what we’ve been doing at the National NOW Action Center to fight the unprecedented threats to women’s access to reproductive health care as well as cuts in programs -- like Medicare and Social Security -- that millions of women rely on.
And I welcome your thoughts, ideas and insights as we strategize and map out our action plan from now through the 2012 elections.
If you can join us for a couple of hours of delicious hors d’oeuvres, a glass of wine, and excellent feminist conversation, please RSVP to Emily Eng, firstname.lastname@example.org.
