Election on Tuesday: NOW/PAC Candidate Janice Hahn Running Close Race
"Turnout is Key in California's 36th District"
With the July 12 special election to fill California's 36th district seat just days away, NOW/PAC Chair Terry O'Neill commends NOW members who are working hard to get out the vote for NOW/PAC-endorsed Janice Hahn.
"Turnout is crucial in this special election," said O'Neill. "Feminist activists will be there for Janice Hahn because we know she will go to Congress and be a key player in advancing women's rights and economic justice."
The Hahn campaign tells us: "Our get-out-the-vote effort is running nonstop from now until election day, Tuesday, July 12. Activists who live in or near the 36th Congressional District can come to the campaign headquarters at 2513 Pacific Coast Hwy in Torrance, Calif., or call 323-338-4441, and we'll give them a job."
The Hahn campaign also suggested that supporters outside the district can help make calls to voters to ensure that the get-out-the-vote effort is a success. Bonnie Grabenhofer, NOW's executive vice president, says: "NOW volunteers have a history of stepping up because they know they can make a difference in a close election with an exceptional feminist candidate running."
If you would like to help build a strong turnout of women's rights supporters at the polls, send an email with your name, zip code and phone number (put "Phone Call Volunteer" in the subject line) to NOW's campaign volunteer who will give you more details.
