National Organization for Women

Dear ,

Stop Violence Against Women! Donate today to help NOW keep up our fight against victim-blaming, rape culture, and sexual assault.

Well, it's started. I hate to say it, but it's surprising it took so long.

The mainstream media is trashing the "credibility" of the housekeeper allegedly raped this spring by former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn. They're saying she lied on her immigration papers and has a boyfriend in jail -- as if that means the rape charges should be dropped.

Please stand with NOW today to help us continue our fight against victim-blaming, rape culture and sexual assault.

Every day more than 600 women in this country are victims of rape or sexual assault. Routine victim-blaming and victim-shaming, like we are seeing in the case of these allegations against DSK, help facilitate this epidemic of sexual violence against women, and make it harder for women to report such crimes.

From the streets outside the IMF to the hallways of congressional office buildings, your donation to NOW helps fund our continuing work to end violence against women. Please give today.

For Justice,

Terry O'Neill
NOW President

P.S. As for DSK and all this talk of "credibility issues" on the part of the alleged victim, you might wonder if I regret calling for his resignation from the IMF the night before he did. The answer is, I'm prouder than ever. Click here to see more photos from our rally outside the IMF calling for DSK to resign.
