Got One More Minute? Help Promote Healthy Families!

Our allies at the National Partnership for Women & Families are encouraging state and local organizations to sign on to a coalition letter to Congress in support of the Healthy Families Act.

This legislation (H.R. 1876/S. 984) would allow workers to earn up to seven paid sick days annually to use to recover from short-term illness, care for a sick family member, seek routine medical care or obtain assistance related to domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking. Employers already providing this type of leave would not have to change their policies, and small businesses with fewer than 15 employees would be exempt.
