Opponents of women's access to contraception have stepped up pressure to expand an exemption allowing some religious institutions to deny birth control insurance coverage to their employees. Religious extremists are lobbying hard. We must not let this happen. The last day to submit comments is Sept. 30, so take action NOW!
With record high poverty in the U.S. and continuing unemployment, NOW President Terry O'Neill told Congress that the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program needs fundamental reform. O'Neill said that TANF's harsh policies have contributed to high poverty rates and that emergency actions is required now to help millions of struggling families. Read more.

The lack of long-term data demonstrates that makers of silicone gel-filled breast implants lack the motivation to carry out rigorous long-term evaluations of patients, leading NOW Foundation to call on the FDA to prevent further risk to women by taking the devices off the market until better research is conducted.
