Will you be one of the One Billion Rising this Valentine's Day? NOW is proud to partner with Eve Ensler, creator of The Vagina Monologues, along with more than 5,000 organizations in over 160 countries, for this worldwide event to demand an end to violence against women.

Join a V-Day event near you, or start one yourself. Dance, rally, speak, attend a reading of The Vagina Monologues and help spread awareness! Join the One Billion and rise with us!

Last month, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was left to quietly expire by the House when the GOP refused to approve changes that would extend protections to immigrant women, Native American women and LGBT individuals. Worldwide, an estimated one in three women will be beaten or raped in her lifetime -- that's at least one billion women.

One Billion Rising is a movement bringing women and men together across the globe to dance and rally in public, calling attention to this widespread crisis. In rallying, we show the world that we are organized, passionate and committed to demanding an end to violence against women -- one of the most urgent issues of our time.

Together with One Billion Rising, NOW is rising to send a message to our leaders here in the U.S. and others around the world: Violence against women is a global epidemic not confined to a single group or country; it is an issue that affects all of us, and it must stop.

Find others rising in your community and sign up today! Thank you for Rising -- see you on Valentine's Day!
