Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). CEDAW is the most comprehensive international agreement on the basic human rights of women and girls, and women around the world have waited more than 30 years for the U.S. to ratify this treaty. NOW-NYC held several rallies to speak out against the egregious case in which Tony Simmons, a guard for the Dept. of Juvenile Justice who pled guilty to raping one girl and sexually assaulting two others, may get probation with no jail time.
