We need to add an Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution that will guarantee women and men equal status under the law. Sign our petition to stand with NOW in demanding that Congress and the states put women in the Constitution. Take action!
With the new Congress, there is a serious possibility that proposals to slash Social Security benefits may go forward. Ask President Obama to take a stand against Social Security benefit cuts and work with Congress to prevent any undermining of this vital program. Take action!
"NOW condemns the tragic shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) that stole six lives and seriously injured 14 today. We condemn, equally, the culture of hate and violence increasingly reflected in [the] extreme right wing," said NOW President Terry O'Neill. Read more.
