Dear NOW Leaders,
What started in Wisconsin is coming soon to a neighborhood near you!
We must be very clear that the attack on collective bargaining rights for public workers (of whom the majority are women at the state and local levels) is one heinous tactic within a broader war on women taking place in federal and state legislatures.
In that spirit, all NOW chapters, members and supporters are encouraged to join We Are One solidarity events taking place around the country on Monday, April 4 -- the 43rd anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. While we are working with allies at the national level to help make these events a success, we are asking our leaders at the local level to also join with allies in making these events as successful as possible.
Go to www.we-r-1.org to find events taking place near you. Talk about it with your chapters, allies and friends. Plan to organize delegations to attend. A strong showing of the entire progressive community will help defeat the war on women and attacks on basic human dignity.

As always, a hearty thank you for all you do for justice,
