I'll never forget the first National NOW Conference I attended. Not only did it inspire me to run for president of Louisiana NOW the following year, I learned my favorite joke in the hotel room I shared with other activists:
How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
If you've attended a National NOW Conference before, this probably sounds familiar. You know how empowering it is to strategize and share skills with the most effective feminists around the country, and that we make some time for laughs, too. That's why I'm asking you to "Support A Sister" and donate $100 today to help NOW offer conference scholarships to up-and-coming activists chomping at the bit to join us in Tampa this June.
Fifteen years have gone by since Las Vegas celebrated NOW's 30th anniversary by cranking up the heat to 120 degrees, and the organization's commitment to making conference attendance affordable continues to be funded by good feminists like you, who are willing to help support a sister who needs it.
Please donate $100 -- or whatever you can afford -- to help send a feminist to the 2011 National NOW Conference.
